where did you get that hat?

As a source for clothes, the high street comes out on top, with 56 men wandering into ladies fashion stores and asking for something for that mysterious partner who just happens to be a very similar size to themselves. Thirty one of you said that catalogues are a much less stressful option, eight buy from specialist stores (more of which later) and five buy designer dresses (jealous, me? spit, no of course not - write me into your wills though please).

You buy from these places, or so you claim, to dress smartly more often than any other way. In fact 51 people said they liked to dress smartly at least some of the time. 41 said that glam was also an option, and 36 said that the casual look was fine. This left 31 people wanting to look like cheap girls, and one person dressing scruffily (but remember folks, scruffy can be very sexy).

Very few people wanted to dress up as someone - though 19 strong minded trannies did state quite clearly that they wanted to dress up as themselves. No specific person was named by anyone, though the spice girls were mentioned, as was a beauty contestant and call-girls. However, more of you showed imagination when it came to dressing for a particular role - Maids and call girls get equal top billing with three votes each, then one vote each for: Business woman, clubber, secretary, porn-star, bride, a sci-fi theme, for formal occasions and as a casual girl. Going back to the source of clothes, this leaves me asking - if you buy from specialist shops, what are you buying - that little selection doesn't seem to account for the eight of you who said that you get your fix from the like of Skin Two..?

Finally, for this section, how do you effect your transformation? No startling revelations here - 83 percent said they wear lingerie, followed closely by 75 percent wearing shoes and 72 percent in makeup. Smaller numbers wear jewellery and wigs (57 and 51 percent respectively). Nearly as many wear foundation garments and perfume (47 and 41 percent - quite a suprise that many of you chose to hide things from your partners and yet risk wearing perfume). The smallest proportion is taken up by the 38 percent of you who wear padding. Of all these options, 14 percent do all of these things to look cool, and 12 percent do none of them (I guess being a girl is just a state of mind). Those of you of a literal frame of mind will realise that doing all of the above may result in a very passable image, but a cold one - the survey didn't offer you the chance to put any real clothes on. Still, not as dumb an omission as forgetting the 'Send' button on the 'other survey', is it?

But what do you all like to wear, and in what circumstances? Click on to find out...
